Cheap car hire at Heraklion Airport (Greece) from local companies: meet & greet in arrivals and full insurance options.
Heraklion Airport (HER), also called Nikos Kazantzakis Airport, is Crete's main airport and lies right on the coast just east of Heraklion city. Local companies usually meet you outside arrivals or run a short shuttle to their office, and the national highway is only minutes away. From here it's an easy drive east to Hersonissos, Malia and Elounda, west to Rethymno and Chania, or south across the mountains to Matala. In peak summer the airport is busy, so add your flight number when booking so the company can track delays.
